Hi, I'm Crystel.

I am a newborn, family, and event photographer from Iowa. I like coffee with almond milk, iced tea, and trying to make you laugh. My favorite food is literally ANY breakfast food but if I had to pick a fav I would say W.A.F.F.L.E.S.

I have two children, Jack (10) and Elizabeth (7). I am married to my High School sweetheart, Matt. We have 3 Pugs named Winnie, Wilbur, and Chloe.

I've been a registered nurse forever, and when I'm not taking pictures I see moms for lactation issues/prenatal lactation visits. I'm a board certified lactation consultant or IBCLC if you prefer the short. I own Latch. Look me up at Latchia.com

I pride myself in newborn safety. Since I work with newborns daily, I am well versed on safety and health practices for the tiny humans.

For studio sessions, these take place in my beautiful, historic studio in Dexter, IA. I provide all the props, backdrops, and wraps for your little one and your family. I get many referrals due to making safety a first priority.

My love for photography started when I was a child. In my home office I have rows of albums from my childhood that I took with a disposable camera. Both of my parents worked for Kodak and they shared their love of photography with the 4 of us girls.

I love what God has made and capturing his work makes life make sense.
